Dirranbandi
Dirran, as it is affectionately known, is home to the mammoth Cubbie Station – but that’s just the start of its attractions

Highlights
The small country town of Dirranbandi comes alive at cotton harvest in the autumn months. Just a stone’s throw away is Cubbie Station, famous for being the largest irrigated cotton farm in the Southern Hemisphere. Get a sense of Cubbie’s magnitude by taking a guided tour of the farm.
If you’re in town during Easter don’t miss the popular fishing competition on the Balonne Minor River.
Capella
With a reputation for food and wine, stunning landscapes and a fascinating history,
the Orange region is the ideal introduction to the Great Inland Way. After sampling the
produce at local restaurants and wineries, relax in Cook Park, which retains much of its
1873 design, or hike to Towac Pinnacle for beautiful views of the valley below.
