The 26m water tower in Coonamble is one of many murals dotted around the shire. It was created by one of the region’s favourite artists John Murray and incorporates Aboriginal
Dreamtime artwork by local artist ‘Sooty’ Welsh.
The design features galahs, which represent community, fence posts to signify the rural aspect of Coonamble, and the sun, moon and Southern Cross.
