NINDIGULLY

Grab some coffee and some homemade treats from one of St George’s quaint cafes and hit the road for a 46km drive south to Nindigully, perched on the banks of the Moonie River.

“The Gully” as it’s locally known, is pretty much four houses and a pub on a riverbank but what a pub it is.

The Nindigully Pub is Queensland’s longest continually licensed pub. Come hungry and tackle the famous Road Train Burger, known to feed up to 10 people or sit back and enjoy the hum of chatter of travellers and locals alike on the veranda.

If Ninidgully looks familiar it may be because it was where the movie Paperbark Hero, starring Hugh Jackman and Claudia Karvan, was filmed in 1999.

Set up camp across the road and enjoy a shady spot on Moonie River or for a real outback pub experience stay the night in one of the Nindigully Pub’s historic rooms.

Embrace the region’s relaxed lifestyle and ease into your morning in Nindigully. Make sure to have your fishing rod packed to throw in a line in the hopes of catching Yellowbelly or Murray Cod, or lace up and take a stroll along the historical Gully Walk.
